Happy to welcome US Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III to the Istana today. He is making his introductory visit to Singapore.
We had a good discussion on regional and international developments, as well as defence cooperation. We affirmed the strong, long-standing ties between Singapore and the US, and our wish to continue collaborating closely in military training and defence technology, despite the pandemic.
We are looking for new ways to work together, and strengthen this relationship further. I wish Secretary Austin all the best as he visits the region. – LHL
